Tibet, known as the Roof of the World,

is the home of Tibetan Buddhism,

and home to some of the world's oldest known Buddhist texts.

This lynx is to the "official" site of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Although this site is not strictly a religious site  (as it also includes cultural and political information),

It does have the best introductory information on Tibetan Buddhism that I have seen anywhere !

It includes introductory pages on the four major schools (or traditions) of Tibetan Buddhism; Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, & Gelug.   It also includes a page describing the oldest known Indigenous religion of Tibet, Bonpo,  more readily recognized in the West simply as Bon.

Just type   www.tibet.net   in your address bar, or click below

( then click on the religions link in the left bar on their homepage. )

This site also includes a brief biography of the

H. H. the Dalai Lama,

which can be found here @   www.tibet.net/hhdl/eng/  .
